About Candy

Fiber Artist Candy Kuehn, ---- comes with a deep and mischievous knowledge of dyes, pastes, thickeners, and paints---, how they work, and “dis-work” together with cloth. Abilities and inabilities are all just art supplies to her.

Candy earned her bachelor of arts from Evergreen State College, Olympia, WA., and has taught dye and wearable arts workshops for several organizations. Candy is currently the resident “Dye Lab Artist” at the Textile Center on University Avenue in Minneapolis.

You can schedule small group or private classes in Candy's studio or your own venue. Classes with Candy are open to the public, so anyone can register.

Candy also facilitates many workshops. The Primary goal of these workshops is to inspire unlimited surface design techniques, and to develop new perspectives on passion, energy, and imagery, deepening a student’s sense of freedom, expression and artistic mastery.

Professionally, Candy creates performance costumes, props and sets for comedy, theater, dance, music, video and fashion groups, as well as custom yardage for designers, manufacturers, and individual collectors. Candy is co-author of the book, “Beautiful Clothes from Beautiful Cloth.”
